The MP2888A is a digital multiphase pulse width modulation (PWM) controller that supports the digital PWM-VID interface and is compatible with the NVIDIA Open VReg protocol. The MP2888A can be used with the Intelli-Phase TM products of MPS to achieve a polyphase voltage regulator (VR) solution with few external components. The MP2888A can be configured for native 10-phase operation.

The MP2888A uses integrated EEPROM to store and recover device configurations. Device configurations and fault parameters can be easily programmed and monitored through the PMBus/I2C interface. The MP2888A can monitor and report output current using the CS output of Intelli-PhaseTM products.

Based on unique digital multiphase nonlinear control, the MP2888A provides fast load transient response, minimizing the use of output capacitors. Using only one power loop to control both steady state and load transients makes power loop compensation very easy to configure.

The MP2888A is packaged in a QFN-40(5mmx5mm) package.
