Acroview, a leader in chip programming, has announced the expansion of its compatible cip model coverage alongside the release of a new version of its programming software. The company's core product, the universal programming platform AP8000, has now achieved full adaptation with Renesas Electronics' synchronous rectification controller IW780.
The IW780 protocol chip is a highly flexible, programmable AC-DC interface controller that supports USB PD 3.1 (USB Power Delivery protocol) and multiple D+/D- fast charging protocols. The chip integrates protocol parsing, secondary-side voltage regulation control, and USB Type-C® disconnection FET controller into a single chip, making it suitable for single-port and multi-port power adapter designs.
The IW780 can be perfectly paired with Renesas' full range of primary-side controllers, including iW9860, iW9801, iW9802, etc., to achieve fast charging power solutions with up to 240W output power. With built-in intelligent control logic, the iW780 automatically enters low-power mode under no-load conditions; when used with iW9860 or iW9870, zero standby power consumption can be achieved. If further efficiency improvement is needed, an external iW610 secondary-side synchronous rectification controller can be added to significantly enhance the full-load operating efficiency of the power supply.
The IW780 is designed for multi-port application scenarios. Multiple iW780 units can collaboratively control secondary-side additional DC/DC conversion circuits (such as ISL81401, ISL8117 solutions) to create a pure native multi-port fast charging solution covering the full power range of 60W to 240W. The IW780 integrates multiple protection functions and adopts all-digital voltage compensation technology, eliminating the need for external passive components for loop compensation, thus simplifying peripheral circuits.

Acroview's self-developed AP8000 universal programmer has become a benchmark professional programming solution in the industry. The device supports flexible and adjustable 1-to-1 and 1-to-8 configuration modes, and offers both online and offline operating modes. It has developed dedicated programming solutions for storage chips such as eMMC and UFS, and can fully cover the offline bare-chip programming and on-board programming needs of Renesas Electronics' entire chip series. The AP8000 adopts an innovative modular design consisting of three core modules: main unit, baseboard, and adapter, giving the device excellent compatibility and expandability. As a universal programming platform, it not only adapts to various programmable chips on the market but also serves as the core component of Acroview's automated batch programming device IPS5800S with stable and efficient performance, capable of handling large-scale chip programming tasks to meet mass production requirements.

The AP8000 main unit features flexible connectivity, equipped with both USB and NET interfaces, enabling convenient networking of multiple programmers. Through the networking function, users can easily achieve synchronous control of multiple programmers and efficiently perform parallel programming operations. In terms of safety, the main unit has built-in intelligent safety protection circuits that monitor chip placement status and circuit connections in real time. Once abnormalities such as chip reverse insertion or short circuit are detected, it immediately triggers a power-off protection mechanism, comprehensively safeguarding the safe operation of chips and the programmer. The main unit is equipped with a high-speed FPGA chip, significantly improving data transmission and processing efficiency to ensure a smooth and efficient programming process. To enhance ease of use, an SD card slot is provided on the back of the main unit. Users only need to store project files generated on a PC to an SD card and insert it into the slot, then use the programmer's physical buttons to select, load, and execute programming operations, enabling standalone operation without a PC. This design not only reduces dependence on computer hardware configuration but also simplifies the working environment setup, significantly improving operational flexibility.
In terms of expandability and compatibility, the AP8000 adopts a modular combination design of baseboard and adapter board, effectively expanding the main unit's functional boundaries. Currently, the device supports products from all major semiconductor manufacturers, covering well-known brands such as SK hynix, Micron, SANDISK, ASR, Kingston, etc. Its supported device types are extensive, including NAND, NOR, MCU, CPLD, FPGA, EMMC, etc., and it is fully compatible with various industry-standard file formats such as Intel Hex, Motorola S, Binary, POF, providing users with a one-stop, full-scenario chip programming solution.
