Acroview Programmer Supports HOLTEK's Enhanced Touch-Key Flash MCU BS83B08C

Acroview, a leader in chip programming, has officially announced further expansion of its supported device portfolio alongside the release of a new version of its programming software. The company’s core product – the universal programming platform AP8000 – has now been fully adapted to support HOLTEK’s enhanced touch-key Flash microcontroller BS83B08C.

The BS83B08C is an 8-bit high-performance RISC Flash MCU with fully integrated touch-key functionality. This series features built-in touch-key sensing and multiple-time programmable Flash memory, providing a simple yet effective solution for various touch-key applications.

The touch-key function is fully integrated into the MCU and requires no external components. In addition to Flash program memory, it includes RAM data memory and True EEPROM memory for non-volatile data storage such as sequence data and calibration parameters. On-chip protection features including a Watchdog Timer and Low-Voltage Reset, combined with excellent noise immunity and ESD protection, ensure reliable operation even in harsh electromagnetic interference environments.

The BS83B08C offers flexible internal and external high/low speed oscillator options and incorporates a complete internal system oscillator that requires no external components. Its ability to dynamically switch between different operating modes provides users with a means to optimize MCU operation and reduce power consumption. The built-in SPI and I2C interfaces facilitate easy communication with external devices, while flexible I/O, timer modules and other features enhance the functionality and flexibility of this MCU series.

Acroview’s self-developed AP8000 universal programmer has become a benchmark professional programming solution within the industry. The AP8000 mainframe offers flexible connectivity, equipped with both USB and NET interfaces for easy networking of multiple programmers. Through networking, users can conveniently achieve synchronized control of multiple programmers and efficiently carry out parallel programming operations. In terms of safety, the mainframe features an intelligent safety protection circuit that continuously monitors chip placement status and connection conditions. Once anomalies such as reverse insertion or short circuits are detected, it immediately triggers a power-off protection mechanism, safeguarding both the chip and the programmer. The mainframe is equipped with a high-speed FPGA chip that significantly enhances data transmission and processing efficiency, ensuring smooth and efficient programming. For improved convenience, an SD card slot is provided on the rear panel. Users can save project files generated on a PC to an SD card, insert it into the slot, and then use the physical buttons on the programmer to select, load, and execute programming operations, enabling standalone operation without a PC. This design not only reduces dependency on computer hardware but also simplifies the setup process, significantly enhancing operational flexibility.

In terms of expandability and compatibility, the AP8000 adopts a modular combination of baseboard and adapter boards, effectively extending the mainframe’s capabilities. The device currently supports products from all major semiconductor manufacturers, including SK hynix, Micron, SANDISK, ASR, Kingston and more. Its supported device types cover a wide range, including NAND, NOR, MCU, CPLD, FPGA, EMMC, etc., and it is fully compatible with industry-standard file formats such as Intel Hex, Motorola S, Binary, and POF, providing users with a one-stop, full-scenario chip programming solution.
