Acroview Programmer Supports Winbond Serial Flash Memory W25X10CLSN

Acroview, a leader in chip programming, has officially announced the expansion of its compatible chip model coverage with the release of its latest programming software version. The company's core product—the universal programming platform AP8000—now achieves full adaptation with Winbond's serial flash memory chip, the W25X10CLSN.

The W25X10CLSN (1M-bit) Serial Flash memory provides a highly adaptable storage solution for space-constrained, pin-limited, and power-sensitive systems. The W25X10CLSN offers exceptional flexibility and performance that surpasses ordinary serial flash devices, making it an ideal choice for applications such as code download, voice, text, and data storage. The W25X10CLSN operates from a single 2.3V to 3.6V power supply, with an active current as low as 1mA and a power-down mode current of only 1μA. The entire series features compact packaging, effectively saving board space.

The memory array of the W25X10CLSN is organized into 512 programmable pages of 256 bytes each, allowing up to 256 bytes of data to be programmed in a single operation. The device features 32 erasable sectors, along with 4 32KB erasable blocks and 2 64KB erasable blocks. The small 4KB sector architecture significantly enhances flexibility for data and parameter storage applications.

The W25X10CLSN supports the standard Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) and is compatible with high-performance Dual Output and Dual I/O SPI modes, utilizing pins including Serial Clock (SCK), Chip Select (CS), Serial Data Input DI (I/O0), and Serial Data Output DO (I/O1). The device supports SPI clock frequencies up to 104MHz. When using the Fast Read Dual Output instruction, the equivalent clock frequency can reach 208MHz, achieving data transfer rates comparable to 8-bit and 16-bit parallel flash memories. Its Continuous Read mode enables efficient memory access, completing a 24-bit address read with only 16 clock cycles of instruction overhead, supporting true eXecute-in-Place (XIP) operations.

The W25X10CLSN is equipped with a Hold pin, a Write Protect pin (WP), and programmable write protection features, supporting top or bottom block protection for the memory array, further enhancing application control flexibility. Additionally, the device is compatible with JEDEC-standard manufacturer and device identification protocols and incorporates a unique 64-bit serial number.

The AP8000 main unit features flexible connectivity with both USB and NET interfaces, enabling convenient networking of multiple programmers. Through networking, users can easily achieve synchronized control of multiple programmers for efficient parallel programming operations. In terms of safety, the main unit is equipped with an intelligent safety protection circuit that monitors chip placement and circuit connection status in real time. In the event of reverse insertion, short circuits, or other anomalies, it immediately triggers a power-off protection mechanism, ensuring the safety of both the chip and the programmer. The main unit is powered by a high-speed FPGA chip, significantly enhancing data transmission and processing efficiency for a smooth and efficient programming process. To improve ease of use, an SD card slot is located on the rear of the main unit. Users can save project files generated on a PC to an SD card, insert it into the slot, and use the physical buttons on the programmer to select, load, and execute programming operations—enabling standalone operation without a PC. This design not only reduces dependence on computer hardware configuration but also simplifies the setup process, significantly enhancing operational flexibility.

In terms of expandability and compatibility, the AP8000 adopts a modular design combining base boards and adapter boards, effectively extending the functional boundaries of the main unit. To date, the device supports products from all major semiconductor manufacturers, covering well-known brands such as SK hynix, Micron, SANDISK, ASR, and Kingston. It supports a wide range of device types, including NAND, NOR, MCU, CPLD, FPGA, and eMMC, and is fully compatible with industry-standard file formats such as Intel Hex, Motorola S, Binary, and POF, providing users with a one-stop, full-scenario chip programming solution.
