Acroview Technologies, a leader in chip programming, has officially announced an expansion in the compatible chip models covered by its latest software release. The company's core product, the universal programming platform AP8000, now fully supports STMicroelectronics' ultra-low-power microcontroller, the STM32U385RGY.
The STM32U385RGY is an ultra-low-power microcontroller based on the high-performance Arm® Cortex®-M33 32-bit RISC core, operating at frequencies up to 96 MHz. The Cortex®-M33 core features a single-precision FPU (Floating Point Unit) that supports all ARM® single-precision data-processing instructions and data types. It also includes a full set of DSP (Digital Signal Processing) instructions and an MPU (Memory Protection Unit) for enhanced application security.
The STM32U385RGY is the first STM32 series to utilize near-threshold voltage technology, achieving a breakthrough in battery life. Thanks to this near-threshold technology, STM32U3 devices reduce power consumption to 10 μA/MHz, significantly extending battery life for various applications. The device integrates high-speed memory (1 MB of Flash memory and 256 KB of SRAM), one octal/quad SPI Flash memory interface, and a rich set of enhanced I/Os and peripherals connected to three APB buses, two AHB buses, and a 32-bit multi-AHB bus matrix.
The STM32U385RGY offers various embedded Flash memory and SRAM protection mechanisms, including read protection, write protection, proprietary code read protection, secure areas, and hidden protection areas. These devices also feature two 12-bit ADCs (2.5 Msps), two comparators, two operational amplifiers, two DAC channels, an internal voltage reference buffer, a low-power RTC, three general-purpose 32-bit timers, one 16-bit PWM timer (dedicated to motor control), three general-purpose 16-bit timers, two basic 16-bit timers, and four 16-bit low-power timers.
The STM32U385RGY integrates a low-power digital filter (ADF) dedicated to audio signal processing, with one filter supporting a voice activity detection function. Additionally, it provides up to 21 capacitive sensing channels.
The STM32U385RGY also supports various standard and advanced communication interfaces, such as three I²C interfaces, two I3C interfaces, three SPI interfaces, one OCTOSPI interface, two USARTs, two UARTs, one low-power UART, one SAI interface, one SDMMC interface, one FDCAN interface, one USB full-speed interface (host or device), and several peripherals for enhanced security: one AES co-processor with DPA protection, one public key accelerator (PKA) with DPA protection, one hash (SHA-256) hardware accelerator, one true random number generator, and a coupling and chaining bridge (CCB).
The STM32U385RGY provides advanced protection through various internal monitoring functions, capable of automatically erasing confidential information in the event of transient or environmental disturbance attacks, effectively defending against security threats. The device operates in a temperature range of -40°C to +105°C (junction temperature up to +110°C) and a power supply range of 1.71V to 3.6V. It also supports multiple independent power supplies, including an analog supply input for ADC, DAC, op-amps, and comparators; a dedicated 3.3V supply input for USB and up to 14 I/Os (I/Os can be independently supplied as low as 1.08V); and a VBAT input for connecting a backup battery to maintain the RTC and back up 32 32-bit registers.
The STM32U385RGY is available in 16 package options with pin counts ranging from 32 to 100.

Acroview Technologies' self-developed AP8000 universal programmer has become a benchmark professional programming solution in the industry. This device supports a flexible configuration mode with one-to-one and one-to-eight setups, offering both online and offline operation modes. It features dedicated programming solutions developed for storage chips like eMMC and UFS, and can comprehensively cover the offline bare-chip programming and on-board programming needs for STMicroelectronics' entire series of chips. The AP8000 adopts an innovative modular design with three core modules—main unit, base board, and adapter—endowing it with excellent compatibility and expandability. As a universal programming platform, it not only adapts to various programmable chips on the market but also serves as a core component of Acroview's automated mass production programming equipment, the IPS5800S, efficiently handling large-scale chip programming tasks to meet mass production demands.

The AP8000 main unit features flexible connectivity, equipped with both USB and NET interfaces, enabling easy networking of multiple programmers. Through networking, users can effortlessly achieve synchronized control of multiple programmers for efficient parallel programming operations. Regarding safety, the unit incorporates an intelligent safety protection circuit that continuously monitors chip placement and circuit connections. Upon detecting anomalies such as reverse insertion or short circuits, it immediately triggers a power-cut protection mechanism, comprehensively safeguarding the chip and programmer. The unit is powered by a high-speed FPGA chip, significantly enhancing data transfer and processing efficiency, ensuring a smooth and efficient programming process. To enhance user convenience, an SD card slot is located on the back. Users can simply save project files generated on a PC to an SD card, insert it into the slot, and use the programmer's physical buttons to select, load, and program files, achieving independent operation without a PC. This design not only reduces dependency on computer hardware specifications but also simplifies the workspace setup process, significantly improving operational flexibility.
In terms of expandability and compatibility, the AP8000 employs a modular design combining a main board and adapter boards, effectively expanding the host's functional boundaries. Currently, the device supports products from all major semiconductor manufacturers, covering well-known brands such as SK Hynix, Micron, SANDISK, ASR, and Kingston. It supports a wide range of device types, including NAND, NOR, MCU, CPLD, FPGA, and eMMC, and is fully compatible with various industry-standard file formats like Intel Hex, Motorola S, Binary, and POF, providing users with a one-stop, all-scenario chip programming solution.
